Q&A

1. How and where can I get a discount on pre-owned clothes?

Discount can be obtained in 3 ways:

  1. By dropping your clothes off at one of the 10 shops with a wear_fair collection zone (link to shops)
  2. By returning the clothes via the “Order a courier” form on 4fchange.com
  3. By bringing your clothes back to the clothing machine (from February in the Bonarka City Center in Krakow)

The customer receives a 10% discount for every 10 kg of clothes donated:

  • 10kg = 10%
  • 20kg = 2 x 10%
  • 30kg = 3 x 10%
  • And so on

The above discounts apply only to pre-owned clothing.

2. How and where can I use the discount on pre-owned clothes?

  • The discounts received when donating clothes can only be used at shops that sell pre-owned clothes (link to the list).
  • The customer can use a maximum of. 30% (3 x 10%) discount on one purchase.

3. What is the 4F x Ubrania do Oddania collaboration about?

Ubrania do Oddania (eng. Clothes to Donate) is our partner that assists us with the collection and also prepares the garments from the collections to be reintroduced to the market as part of the wear_fair and second circulation programme. Through this

collaboration, we are developing the circular model and reducing the environmental impact of clothing brands.

4. What is the clothing collection about and what happens to the donated clothes?

All the clothes donated by our customers go to Ubrania do Oddania, where they are sorted and categorised. Undamaged garments are washed and cleaned, while those with defects (holes, broken zips, rips, etc.) are additionally repaired.

Damaged clothes that cannot be repaired will be upcycled or sent for recycling. On average, about 5-10% of the clothes are recycled (e.g. into carpets, cleaning cloth, or into ‘raggedy’ material that will be used, for example, to make dog beds).

5. What are some other ways to give clothes a second life?

The wear_fair programme is just one way of extending the life of unwanted clothes. It is up to you to decide what to do with the clothes you no longer wear, which now take up space in your wardrobe. You can:

  • give them to a friend or family member,
  • sell them to someone else via popular sales platforms,
  • donate to the people in need or to some foundation that is currently in need of clothes.

Landfill is the last place where unwanted clothes should go. The clothing industry’s impact on the environment is huge, and this must undeniably change. That’s why we are collecting clothing from 4F and all other brands in the wear_fair and online zones. (link to Join)

6. What happens to clothes that do not go on sale?

All the clothes donated by our customers go to Ubrania do Oddania, where they are sorted and categorised. Undamaged garments are washed and cleaned, while those with defects (holes, broken zips, rips, etc.) are additionally repaired.

Damaged clothes that cannot be repaired will be upcycled or sent for recycling. On average, about 5-10% of the clothes are recycled (e.g. into carpets, cleaning cloth, or into ‘raggedy’ material that will be used, for example, to make dog beds).

7. Why is 4F involved in a second cycle of clothing?

As a clothing brand, we are aware of the critical state of the planet and the environmental impact of the clothing industry. Therefore, we have decided to take responsibility for our actions and make real changes as part of the 4F CHANGE strategy. Second circulation is currently one of the best ways to make clothes ‘live’ longer and not end up in landfill. It is also a key element in the 4F brand’s development of the circular model.

8. What is 4F doing to reduce its negative impact on the environment?

You can find out all our activities and related plans at 4fchange.com/strategy. You will find out there, among other things, that for the sake of the environment we have decided to develop a circular model, which involves giving clothes a second life and renting clothes. Our environmental strategy also involves changes to new 4F brand products so that they are created in a more sustainable way. We have also joined the Polish Plastics Pact to change our packaging and reduce the share of plastic in the supply chain. We encourage you to read the full 4F CHANGE strategy at https://4fchange.com/en/strategy/.

9. How does donating clothes support the 4F POMAGA Foundation (eng. 4F HELP)?

For every 1 kg of clothes donated, 1 zloty will be transferred to the 4F POMAGA Foundation. In this way, our customers not only have the opportunity to do something for the environment, but also support projects carried out by the foundation, such as educational and sporting activities for children and young people

10. What makes the wear_fair programme unique?

Wear_fair is a programme based on the closed loop of clothing and circularity. It is about new clothes designed in a more sustainable way and giving clothes a second life. In the case of new clothes, by 2025 we want to introduce at least 25% of our products in 4F collections designed using more sustainable materials.

When it comes to pre-owned clothes:

  • We collect all clothes from our customers, both 4F-branded clothes and clothes from other brands (stationary and online).
  • Together with Ubrania do Oddania, we clean and repair them in order to put them back on sale.
  • The second-hand 4F clothes are available in some of our stores: https://4fchange.com/en/join/
  • In February 2022, we will launch the first automatic device for collecting clothes from customers in Krakow.
